Alpha

We run regular Alpha Courses during the autumn to help people learn about the Christian faith in an informal and sociable environment. Evenings start with a meal followed by a video and discussion in very small groups.

Counselling

We no longer provide a counselling service.

Dance Group

The aim of the group is to learn to worship God through movement and dance.

Divorce Recovery Workshop

 This is a course of 6 weekly evening sessions that help individuals come to terms with and move forward from a relationship that has irretrievably broken down. It is part of the UK DRW National Charity which is a self funding voluntary organisation started in 1992. - details here

Hollesley Bay Prison

Members of St John’s are involved in Sunday worship once a month and in a range of other activities at Hollesley Bay. (Contact Maurice Read 01394 610433).

Link Up

Enabling women in local churches to get together to develop friendships and invite friends - meeting alternate Mondays at 7.45 pm usually in the Old Vicarage.

Little Angels

Activity-based church for the under 5s and their carers. Singing and stories, somehing to make and something to eat. In the church at 10am on the 3rd Tuesday of each month during term time.

Pastoral Team

The Pastoral Team is responsible for organising events and care for the elderly and housebound. If you know of someone who would value a pastoral visit, or would like to receive Holy Communion at home please contact Sue Simpson or Tricia Shuler 383162

Available to pray with people for God's healing of physical and related problems after services or at home.

Just42

Just42 is a charitable Christian Youth Work Trust serving the Farlingaye High School catchment area. During the week several different groups are run by Just42
Clubs for youth are:   OTS, Bredfield Youth Club, JADS at Hasketon, Wacky Wednesday at Melton, Grundisburgh Youth Club.
Activities for children:   2sday Kidz at Hasketon, Kool Kidz at Melton, WAK Klub at Woodbridge (Warwick Avenue Church)
as well as Animation, Wheelie Bin Band, babysitting course, drugs education, mentoring

Prayer

All are welcome to join a time of prayer at 9 am on weekdays in term time in the church. Items for prayer and thanks can be entered into the prayer book at the back of church any time to be used during intercessions in Sunday services. The Prayer Chain can be used for urgent prayer needs (contact Lis Eaton for Prayer Chain - 01473 610147)

Residential Homes

We take regular monthly Communion services at Highlands and Suffolk Place, and can take home Communion to those who wish it. (Contact Church Office)

Small Groups

A special feature of our Church, where small informal groups meet every week for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. New members always welcome.

St John’s Family Centre

This runs the Community Car Service under Suffolk County Council's Community Transport guidelines.

Women’s Fellowship

An opportunity to hear an interesting speaker and enjoy a time of worship, friendship and a cup of tea on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2.45 pm in the Church Hall.

Youth And Children’s Activities

An extensive range of activities and events for children and young people.

Junior Church (Sundays during 9 and 11am services except 1st Sunday) :

Créche (0-3 years old)
Bubbles (Pre-school to Reception)
Surfers (Years 1, 2 and 3))
Xstream (Years 4, 5 and 6)

Revival Youth Congregation:

Cells (Sundays during 9 and 11am services except 1st Sunday).
Small groups of people you can get on with, and the chance to explore
what it means to be a Christian, chat, make friends, pray, look at the
Bible etc. Year 7 upwards. 9am start in church; 11am in church hall.

Vision (Every second Sunday evening at 7.00 pm)
A monthly youth service in church geared towards and run by young
people. Focusing on worship and relevant teaching.

Rock Solid (Fridays 6.30-8.30 pm)
For school years 7-9. Xbox, Wii, games, tuck shop, food, trips and chat.
Meet in the Church Hall.
