Form Vision

What is Form Woodbridge?  A new model of discipleship and leadership training. It’s a year dedicated to working out what it means to be a follower of Jesus in today's context. We know we are called to lead in the church and in the world: we look at how we can see this take shape.

Grounded in reality by working part time. We give you two full days of training a week whilst you spend the remainder working in the world and putting what you learn into practice. This is a key part of your training and having a job enables you to support yourself financially.

Providing experiential learning.  We are all about learning practically and socially. Being apprenticed by church leaders runs alongside great teaching. We don’t just want to get head knowledge - we want to see it worked out in our lives every day.

Who is it for?  If you’re interested in becoming a disciple of Jesus, and if you want to see your life change through teaching, acts of service and mission, and if you’re up for a challenge, then you should be considering this gap year for God. It’s ideal for those finishing University, A Levels or if you’re between 18 and 30 years old.

Character, Service and Mission: a balanced year

Character:  Throughout the form year we will explore what it means for you to follow God in today’s world. This exploration will come in many ways: not just through formal teaching, but also through a variety of experiences and events. At form we use several different tools to help you to identify and affirm your strengths and also to challenge your weaknesses. Throughout the year our focus is to develop both character and skills, learning what it means to be become a disciple of Jesus.

Service:  As a form trainee you will be welcomed into the family of St Johns Woodbridge and will have many opportunities to get involved in serving God through the church. You will become a key part of many events that take place here. There will be countless opportunities for you to play a role in whatever ministry you feel called to.

Mission:  Mission is a core part of what form is about - whether it’s helping at Alpha, gardening for a local resident, or praying for the local community, you will explore the many types of mission that Jesus calls us to. It is our hope that while engaging in mission you will be stretched in new ways and provided with a springboard for whatever God calls you to after form. You will also have the opportunity to travel a meet our friends in Uganda (Fund raising will support this).
