Our Associate Minister - Tricia Shuler

Tricia ShulerMy home for many years was in Cambridge where I was firstly Bursar at Westminster College – the URC theological college – and then Domestic Bursar at Girton College, one of the largest colleges in the University. In 2002 I left paid employment to go to Ridley Hall as a student. This was known in the family as, “Mum's Gap Year” but it turned into three years as it became apparent that I was being called to ordination rather than the expected and planned charity administration.

I was ordained in 2005, moving to Ipswich to serve a curacy at St Augustine's. There I met many wonderful people so it was quite a wrench leaving in November 2008 for a placement at St John's in Ipswich. I need not have worried though as there are lots of wonderful people there too and they have made me incredibly welcome.

My academic qualifications are principally an MA in Pastoral Theology and a BTh. However my passion is seeing people change whether through coming to faith for the first time or through good pastoral care and I am looking forward to working with the existing teams as we seek to share the love of Jesus.

My family is three wonderful sons and two ever-patient, lovely daughters-in-law. I have no doubt that it won't be long before they visit me in Woodbridge.

I am delighted to be joining the staff team at St John's and look forward to getting to know everyone as we work, pray and laugh together.

Tricia is to be licenced as our Associate Minister by the Bishop at a service in St Johns on 15th June at 7.30pm
