Pray in the church or wherever you are at 9am

Week 1 Matthew 5: 43-48

5th Love your enemies

Pray for those who you regard as enemies of yourself, of God’s people. Ask God to guide you in how to show love to them. Pray for counsellors and others involved in conflict resolution. Pray for the PCC, meeting this evening.

6th Pray for those who persecute you

Although we in Woodbridge are unlikely to suffer persecution there are many Christians who do suffer. Pray for them now, that they will remain strong in faith. And pray for their oppressors. Pray for all the people and communities helped through the work of TEAR Fund.

7th That you may be sons [daughters] of your Father

Give thanks that we have been given a place in God’s family, by his grace and the sacrifice of our saviour. Pray for our House Groups and the house group leaders.

8th He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good

Thank God for the world in which we live and all that sustains life in the world – freely given by God to all of us. Pray for Dave, for Tricia, and all who preach God’s word in this place and pray for their families.

9th Be perfect…

Jesus calls us towards perfection, so we need to pray that we can become totally obedient and submissive to God. Pray for the Street Pastors as they go out this evening. Pray for the Healing on the Streets. Pray for the Pastoral Tea on Sunday.


Week 2: Isaiah 61: 1-4, 8-11

12th The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me

Pray that St John’s Church will be open to receiving and obeying the Holy Spirit. Pray for CMS and the Robinson family in Thailand.

13th He has sent me…

We each are called to a particular ministry in God’s church. Pray for your ministry, that it will be fruitful and blessed. Pray for Churches Together in Woodbridge and Melton.

14th to bestow…a garment of praise

Pray that we will all be given the gift of the ministry of encouragement. Pray for our children, their Junior Church leaders and helpers. Pray for the children who live in our neighbourhood. Pray for parents and schoolteachers.

15th I, the Lord, love justice

Pray that we will demonstrate something of God’s mercy and justice in all that we do. Pray for those who are oppressed and who lack mercy or justice in their lives. Pray for our GPs, nurses and other medical staff and all those who work in our medical centres, hospitals and care homes..

16th I delight greatly in the Lord

Give praise and worship to our Lord God, his Son and his Holy Spirit. Pray for the Carol Services on Sunday and all who come. Pray for the Street Pastors, going out this evening that God will use them to bring a blessing on those who they meet. Pray for Healing on the Streets and those involved in this ministry


Week 3: 2 Samuel 7: 1-11, 16, Luke 1: 26-38

19th God sent the angel Gabriel…

To give stunning news to a young girl, who set aside her own dreams in obedience to God. Give thanks that our God was willing to become dependent on a human to carry through his plan of salvation. Pray for all who are suffering, whether through natural or man-made disasters. Pray for the Prayer Ministry Team.

20th …your [David’s] throne will be established forever

Give praise that Jesus is on his throne and now reigns on high. Pray for the Church of England and for our bishops Nigel and Clive. Pray for SAMS.

21st The Lord is with you

Praise God that through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we can know God’s presence with us. Spend some time in his presence now.. Pray for Michael Browne and his family.

22nd Do not be afraid

Most of us become afraid when stepping out into a completely unknown or unexpected situation. Pray for anyone you know who is facing a major life-challenge. Pray for Churches Together in Woodbridge and Melton.

23rd I am the Lord’s servant

Can we say Mary’s words without holding back and with no hesitation? Ask God to give you the strength to submit to his will for your life. Pray for the Street Pastors, going out this evening. Pray for Christ to bless you, your family and friends this Christmas
 

Week 4: Luke 2: 1-20

26th there was no room for them in the inn

Pray for those who have no permanent place to live or have been thrown out of whatever home they had. Pray for the members of the congregation that you usually worship with. Pray for Just42 and the work with young people in the area. Pray for musicians and singers as they lead us in praise and worship.

27th there were shepherds…an angel of the Lord appeared

The birth was announced to ordinary people, while they were at work. Pray for the kingdom of God to break through where you are. Pray for FORM+ , and the forthcoming term.

28th I bring you good news…

To whom are we bringing the good news of God’s love through Jesus? Pray for those who God is calling you to tell, for an opening and the words to say or actions to carry out. Pray for any who you know who find life to be a struggle through ill health, unemployment or concerns about family.

29th Glory to God in the highest

Come before God in adoration and praise. Pray for the coming of his kingdom and his rule on earth. Pray that God will show you the part he wants you to play in bringing this about. Pray for the town of Woodbridge.

30th …on earth peace to men

Pray for peace within families, within neighbourhoods, within nations and between nations. Pray for Talitha Koum in Ipswich and the funding needed. Pray for the emergency services in our county. Pray for the Street Pastors as they go out and for those who they come alongside. Pray for the Covenant Service on Sunday.
