St John’s Church, Kamwokya, Kampala

We have been invited by Revd Michael Mukhwana, Vicar of St John’s Church, Kamwokya, Kampala, to share in their mission to their local community in 2010.  In 2006 four of us were privileged to visit St John’s Kamwokya sharing in their mission and staying with our good friend Margaret, whose clinic we seek to support financially.

This year our team of 10 will be Bex Darnell, Lizzy Plummer, Laura Farmer, Mark Etheridge, Rob Blight, Ben Gardner, Kyle Buxton, Noelle Gore, Chris Rouse & Dave Gardner.

We will be helping them with their own “Mission Week”; visiting churches and schools in the area. There will also be opportunities to share our testimonies and talk on different subjects in the bible.

During the mission trip we will be sending back daily news and requests for prayer, so please keep an eye on this page.

Mission Programme

The overall theme for the mission is: "...the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." (Luke 19:10).

A street in UgandaAfter arrival on Friday, the team will have a briefing on Saturday morning and then go out for a prayer walk within Kamwokya.

On Sunday Dave will be speaking in the Holy Communion service and members of the team will be sharing testimonies throughout the services.

During the week they will be participating in house-to-house prayer visits in the mornings and Revival teachings from 5.30pm. Dave will speaking during the first 2 evenings of Monday and Tuesday.

During the week they will be visiting schools and other institutions, and will also have group discussions in the evenings on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday they will have a plenary session to crown the week.

The mission ends on Sunday the 21st with a celebration in the evening.
