Where are we going?
As part of the Strategic Review to discern the vision for the next five years for St John’s you are invited to be part of listening to what God is saying to us as a church family.
In the first few weeks of September there are two ways anyone connected with St John’s can be involved.
From 6th September to 17th September Morning Prayers will be held in St John’s Church 9.00 – 9.30am for a time of waiting on God with an opportunity for you to share words, scriptures, pictures etc and place these on a Prayer Board. The Church will remain open until 5.30pm for anyone to come and pray in the quiet of the Church and add their contribution.
Two Church Prayer Events will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday 9th September & Wednesday 15th September for the whole church family. This will include amongst other elements
- a time of worship;
- an opportunity to hear the Vision I have for this year of review and hopes for the future;
- a time of confession and repentance based on 2 Chron 7 v14;
- Listening to God in quiet & Prayer ‘Buzz Groups’.
Ideally come to both evenings but please seek to come to at least one of these times of prayer as it is rare for me to ask the whole church to come together to pray.
These opportunities are part of the Strategic Review which is taking place in both Churches fully backed by both PCC’s and guided by a Steering Group drawn from both Churches. The aim is to present reports to the respective AGM’s in 2011 outlining the vision we believe God has for us for the next five years. If you have any questions about the Strategic Review then contact a member of the Steering Group. (Roger Ackerley, Phil Davies, Dave Gardner, Karen Gardner, Noelle Gore, Alan Nunn & Steve Stammers.)
